Snow snow snow everywhere!

Snow covers everything. It started falling about 5 yesterday downtown. By the time I left Coffee Underground about 8 pm the streets were slick and snow was piling up. I took a route with few hills but was defeated by a crown street, bald rear tyres and deep snow. The Miata could not get traction with the snow piled up in the middle. Parked side of street with the help of a good samaritan. This morning the doos are frozen shut so it's time to wait for the sun to thaw it out and melt the ice on the street. Did I mention a kind soul gave me a ride the last few blocks home and I walked this morning. Got several pix and will post to Picasa or Flickr. . .

Multimedia

A multimedia class at Furman. A new class for 2008-9 exploring all the ways we communicate with technlogy. Blogs, wiki's, Face Book, MySpace, Flikr, You Tube, and Twitter. Many more abound and many more are put up every day. I'll try to share some of this with my fellow OLLI members in the Fall.

Happy Valentine's day!

Eating quiche at Strossner's bakery, listening to DW-Radio discussing teaching religion in Austrian schools. Seems the muslims are teaching that Islam and Democracy are incompatible. Radio feed courtesy of Livestation.

Greenville News 5K Run Downtown race

Its a cloudy day, ideal for a road race. Streets are closed downtown and everyone is milling about after running 5K. A couple of scenes at the finish line.

Watched the Obama Inaguration at. Furman

Watched the Obama Inaguration with a class of Furman students on TV, computers and mobile phones. The various sources and delivery modes made for good discussion. I'm excited for our new leader. Some of my friends had interesting responses to this.

Finally gave up the ghost...

The old dead tree next door just fell. No damage, just blocking Madden street. It's at least 80 years old. I'll get pix at first light.
